Capricorn-Taurus-Virgo

   The cardinal earth sign Capricorn, represent earth in its purest and most basic form. Body-and material- oriented, Capricorn takes an active interest in the world of objects, money, sex and solid symbols of power. However, there are many aspects of Capricorn, so much so that perhaps none may be said to be typical. Capricorn is aesthetic, materialistic, highly ambitious, but also spiritual, technical and practical, but also theoretical.

   The fixed earth sign Taurus, represents the immovable element in human nature. Taurus is typically stubborn and hard to convince, refusing to budge on many issues; however it also desires harmony and so is not completely intractable. Taurus also displays procreative and nurturing characteristics symbolized by Demeter, Gaia, Mother Earth or Mother or Mother Nature. Evidencing a great love for sensuous beauty. Taurus emphasizes the earthier aspects of its ruler Venus. Many Taurus values could be called “deeply human”.

   The mutable earth sign Virgo is perhaps less overly physical than the other earth signs, more flexible and mentally oriented through the influences of its speedy ruler Mercury. Virgo is quick and analytical, qualities which seem to be at variance with other earth characteristics. However, Virgos are also highly dependable, service-oriented and stable. Gemini-Libra-Aquarius

   The mutable air sign Gemini, is taken up with the study of details and facts, but also with communication (air is the medium for both speech and other forms of transmission such as radio/TV signals). Mercury, ruler of Gemini, is the winged messenger whose flight path spans the skies. The Twins symbolize the principle of duality and for the Gemini signify the need to find a partner who can be the “better half”. Gemini rarely feels complete in itself, but seeks to establish a bond of common understanding based on thought, logic and verbal expression. The sign of the Twins is considered the most changeable of all the astrological signs.
 

   The cardinal air sign Libra, represents air in its purest and most basic form. Aries-Leo-Sagittarius

   The cardinal fire sign Aries, represents fire in its purest and most basic form. Ruled by Mars. Aries is willful and impulsive, taking an interest in the world of action, excitement, accomplishment, and leadership. Aries is childlike in nature and enjoys being the center of attention. Impatient, Aries likes to get it done now, insistent, Aries does not like to be told no. The fiery strong-willed Ram does things when and how it feels like doing them; its physical nature is impetuous and passionate.

   The fixed fire sign Leo, represents the steady radiance of the Sun its ruler. If Aries is fire out of control, then Leo is fire under control. Leo speaks of warmth and of creativity, it despises meanness or pettiness, it is the grand gesture, the noble mien that exemplifies its leonine nature. Steady dependability, courage and fortitude characterize the lion.

   The mutable fire sign Sagittarius, is often depicted drawing the arrow on its prey, but indeed the Archer speeds its shaft toward the highest philosophical targets also. Cancer-Scorpio-Pisces

   The cardinal water sign Cancer represent the water sign nature in its purest and most basic form. Concerned with feelings, Cancer is protective of itself and others.    Some people call them Angels, others call them guardian spirits, and still others use the name daimon, djinn, or demon (for a fallen Angel). The most common are these: Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominions, Virtues, Powers, Principalities, Archangels, and Angels. Some lists include Hosts. Angels are sometimes called Watchers and Holy Ones.

You may recognize a church hymn that begins:
